C’ensil L-Ascorbic Acid

Vitamin C has long been hailed as an anti-aging gem. It is well known for its antioxidant qualities, boosting immune system and synthesizes collagen. Vitamin C has been shown to help protect and repair skin cells. Not only does the nutrient wipe away free radicals, but it can also remove the DNA damage that the radicals form.

Vitamin C primarily comes in 2 forms, the natural and the synthetic. L-Ascorbic Acid is the scientific name for natural form of Vitamin C while the synthetic form are known as derivatives.

L-Ascorbic Acid has many benefits on skin such as wrinkle and hyperpigmentation reduction, protection against photoaging and collagen stimulation. But it has worse stability. It is easily oxidised and hydrolyzed in water.

Due to this limitation, most Vitamin C skincare products uses the derivative form such as magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, ascorbyl palmitate, etc. These derivatives are stable but it need skin enzyme to convert into L-Ascorbic Acid before it can be utilised by our skin. The enzyme in skin is also known to deteriorate with age. Thus the low absorption rate of the derivatives provide little benefit to our skin.

Evaluating these strength and deficiencies, a team of medical R&D researchers from Louisiana, USA are tasked to overcome the limitations of Vitamin C.

In 1999, the medical team of Sage Pharmaceutical Inc. have successfully conquered the instability problem which limit the use of L-Ascorbic acid on cosmetic and beauty application. With further relentless improvement, the key know-how on stability, high concentration and high effectiveness were obtained by the team and also meet the strict requirement by FDA. After clinical tests on general skin and problem skin by different doctors, this revolutionary approach was awarded the patent in USA and worldwide in 2003. This innovation has led the world in L-Ascorbic Acid technology.

A revolutionary skincare breakthrough, Sage Pharmaceuticals Inc. USA has developed a patented technology, ATDS (Amphiphilic Transdermal Delivery System) that allows highly effective penetration of skincare formula into the skin. The research team found an amazing discovery by combining high concentration of L-Ascorbic Acid and penetration enhancer ATDS. The results are a proven formula to combat melasma.

Clinical Study done by Department of Dermatology, Inje University School of Medicine, Busan, Korea has demonstrated the efficacy of C’ensil in the treatment of melasma and overall lightening of the skin.

Stability

C’ensil does not contain water at all, thanks to the patented ATDS, and that is the reason why C’ensil of 25% L-Ascorbic Acid can fully keep its efficiency and sustain stability over 18 months.

This is absolutely the best L-ascorbic acid serum to stimulate collagen growth, improve skin texture, smooth fine lines, and reduce skin discoloration.

This powerful antioxidant serum can turn the treated skin firmer and smoother with improved texture, tone and overall radiance in a short time.

ATDS Technology

What is the Amphiphilic Transdermal Delivery System (ATDS)?

The ATDS is a patented system developed by Sage Pharmaceuticals Inc. which allows formula to penetrate the skin rapidly down to the dermis to achieve maximum result of tissue repair. The function of ATDS requires a solvent in a form of molecular level smaller than the nano to penetrate the dermis. The combined mechanism of a sustaining penetration system and the EO “floating system” allows the aqueous and the hydrophobic proportions to interact under the osmotic pressure, thus creating a conduit for the solution to seep deep into the dermis.
